The 46th Canadian Finals Rodeo starts today in Red Deer and five Peace Country cowboys will be among those chasing a Canadian championship buckle.

Sexsmith’s Lee Rombough will be in the tie-down roping after finishing sixth in the Canadian standings this year.

Saddle bronc rider Jake Watson of Hudson’s Hope goes in as the highest-placed qualifier from our area. He wound up fourth in the saddle bronc rankings.

Two other BC Peace cowboys will be in the steer wrestling. Fort St. John’s Stephen Culling finished ninth, Pouce Coupe’s Clayton Moore tenth in the standings this year.
