Accused in two drug arrests sentenced to 20 months in jail

Alberta Justice says a man charged after a pair of 2018 drug arrests in Grande Prairie has been handed a 20-month jail sentence.

Cameron Joseph Pike pleaded guilty to nine of the more than 70 charges he was facing on October 30 in Grande Prairie court.

He will be given nine-months credit for time already spent in custody.

Pike was arrested in January of 2018 after a search of a stolen vehicle turned up various pills including a small amount of fentanyl, along with small amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine, and a loaded handgun.

Pike pleaded guilty to four charges of possession of a controlled substance and two weapons charges in that case.

He also admitted to a single count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two more of failure to comply with conditions in another arrest from November of 2018.

Pike and two others were charged after a search of a home several drugs, four firearms,and cash.

David Jeffrey Guilbeault was given a 36-month sentence in June after pleading guilty to nine of the 33 charges he was facing, multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply among them

The third accused, Staci Lynn Stevenson, pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of a controlled substance back in April and was fined $500.

Pike also pleaded guilty to a separate failure to comply charge.
