Sexsmith to hold public hearing on potential changes to restricted dog breeds
The Town of Sexsmith will be hosting a public hearing next month about potentially removing restricted breeds from the Animal Control Bylaw.
At Town Council on January 6, Council discussed the bylaw and whether to keep restricted breeds in.
Sexsmith Mayor Kate Potter says there were mixed opinions on Council regarding the removal.
“The bylaw went ahead with the majority vote, it wasn’t unanimous, and when that happens we often recognize that there will be mixed opinions throughout our residents, and we want to make sure that we have heard from the residents to know if this is an important issue for them.”
