Province introduces bill to amend liquor laws
Albertans could soon be allowed to consume alcohol in parks if a new bill introduced Wednesday gets passed in the legislature.
Bill 2 was introduced by Grant Hunter, the Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction, on Wednesday, and would make amendments to the province’s Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act.
One of the amendments includes letting municipalities decide if they will allow alcohol consumption in designated picnic areas in their parks.
Last June, the province allowed drinking in 14 provincial picnic sites across, provided you snack while enjoying.
