Rotary House taking precautions to protect against COVID-19

Mar 24, 2020 | 5:30 AM

Rotary House is doing what they can to stop the spread of COVID-19, and support those who use their facility.

Kathy Lambert, Executive Director with Rotary House, says they have a pandemic plan in place.

“We’ve already started a few weeks ago with extra precautions, no visitors allowed at Rotary House, no volunteers, extra hand-washing units brought in at every entrance way.”

Lambert says they have also set up an isolation room in case someone exhibiting symptoms needs somewhere to stay.

She says they are planning on having an overflow site set up to increase social distancing.

“We’re usually running at capacity, it can be anywheres up to 145, 150 within the whole building, and we’re looking at relocating at least 45 individuals.”

Lambert adds that they are currently still looking for the appropriate site with the City.
