Beaverlodge Town Council approves budget

Town Council in Beaverlodge has approved a new budget that includes a 3.38 per cent property tax increase.

In a release, the Town says it was wanting to maintain existing services and programs with a minimal tax increase while also dealing with funding cuts from the province.

The same release says a cut in MSI operating funding and the province billing communities like Beaverlodge for policing costs had a big impact on the budget.

MSI Operating funding was cut from $85,159 to just under $29,861.

Policing will now cost the Town an additional $48,781.
