No active cases of COVID-19 reported in City of Grande Prairie as of April 6
The province of Alberta has changed how they are reporting cases of COVID-19 in the province.
As the province announced 98 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 Monday, its aggregate data website was updated to now show active and recovered cases by municipality, as well as fatalities. The reporting areas have also been changed to more formal municipal boundaries, rather than areas related to certain municipalities (i.e. M.D. of Smoky River, rather than the Falher area).
With those changes, the first two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the City of Grande Prairie are shown to have now recovered, while reporting that there are zero active cases as of April 6. The two cases were announced back on March 20.
There were 12 newly confirmed cases reported in the North Zone on Monday, bringing Northern Alberta’s total number of confirmed cases to 89. A number of those newly reported cases were added in Peace Region municipalities, including a new case in the County of Grande Prairie.
