2020 Grande Prairie Stompede cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic

The 2020 Grande Prairie Stompede has been cancelled. The event was set to run on May 27 – May 31.

The Grande Prairie Board of Directors for the event say the cancellation was decided under the recommendations of Alberta Health Services to cancel mass gatherings and events to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

They say they decision was not made lightly, but that they want to do what they can to protect the health of fans, sponsors, volunteers and participants.

The Board of Directors add that they will use the time to continue work on next year’s event, and that they thank all who have supported them over the 40 years the event has been run.
