Football Alberta names Grande Prairie’s Dave Bleile Official of the Year

Dave Bleile from Grande Prairie has been named Football Alberta’s Official of the Year as he received the Harold Ferguson award on Thursday.

According to Football Alberta, Bleile is one of the foot soldiers of officiating in the province. Anyone taking in a football game from pee-wee through to high school and senior men’s and women’s here in Grande Prairie is likely to see Bleile donning the stripes on the field.

Bleile is also a local instructor and provides on-field training for new officials in the offseason.

Football Alberta says that Bleile is one of the most dependable officials in Grande Prairie and he is always the guy to go to for big games, as he’s officiated in all Provincial level games held in Grande Prairie at the minor and high school levels.

This is the second Official of the Year award Bleile has earned for the year 2019, as he was also named top official by the Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection that year.
