Friendship Centre continuing to assess situation after team member tests positive for COVID-19
The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre has temporarily closed the Community Kitchen and are running their programs virtually after a team member tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
The Community Kitchen is a program run by the Friendship Centre and the Salvation Army that provides three meals a day, five days a week to those who need it. It was given a grant from the City of Grande Prairie back in November 2019.
Len Morisette, President of the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre and the Alberta Native Friendship Centre Association says they are currently working with their partners to cover the shortfall due to the closure of the Community Kitchen.
