Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum to re-open July 1

Jun 11, 2020 | 12:01 PM

The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum will re-open on July 1, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays.

The museum was temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors are being asked to purchase a timed ticket online, and bonebed tours, Palaeontologist for a Day and summer camps will all be back with some changes.

Summer camps will be held outdoors and reduced to ten participants per camp. Those who cannot participate in person will have kits delivered to them.

The Palaeontologist for a Day program will continue, which sees visitors exploring the Pipestone Creek bonebed. Participants must be at least 12 years old, and those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“We’re excited to be able to resume operations with some adjustments to focus on safety and the comfort of all of our guests through measures including social distancing practices,” said Executive Director Linden Roberts. “Our intent is to ensure an excellent visitor experience as visitors return to the museum.”

The museum will also be selling reusable masks with filters for $15, and the restaurant at the museum, Café on 43, will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
