Eight COVID-19 cases recover in Clear Hills County

Alberta added 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, as eight cases in the Clear Hills County area have recovered from the day prior.

The recoveries now mean there are two active cases in Clear Hills County as of end of day June 24. Elsewhere in the Peace Country, there were two new cases reported in the Mackenzie County region, meaning there are now four active cases there.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of end of day June 24 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 18 cases (All recovered)
  • County of Grande Prairie: Seven cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 67 cases (57 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 41 cases (One active, 35 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: Five cases (All recovered)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Four cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: Six cases (All recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: Ten cases (Two active, eight recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: Zero cases
  • Mackenzie County: 37 cases (Four active, 33 recovered)

There are now 506 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, while 7,191 people have recovered.

One more individual has died from COVID-19 in Alberta, bringing the number of fatalities in the province attributed to the disease to 154.

There are now 38 people in hospital with COVID-19 in Alberta with eight of those individuals in ICU. Three people in the North Zone are in hospital with one of those patients in ICU.

Over 6,300 tests were processed over the last 24 hours in the province, bringing the total number of tests administered to 415,716 as of Thursday’s update. 29,644 people from northern Alberta have been tested.
