No new COVID-19 cases reported in Peace Region in last 48 hours

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Peace Region in the last 48 hours, as the Province of Alberta added 30 new cases for June 30, and 64 new cases on July 1, leaving 542 active cases in the province.

Over the last two days, hospitalizations increased by three to 44 people with COVID-19, eight of those who are hospitalized are in the ICU.

One new death was reported on Thursday in the South Zone, bringing the number of fatalities related to the virus to 155 in Alberta.

One-hundred and seven people have recovered in the last 48 hours.

Two previously recovered cases of COVID-19 were removed from the Grande Prairie area and attributed elsewhere, leaving 17 cases in total for the city. Grande Prairie remains at one active case.

Updated case numbers among Peace Region municipalities are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 17 cases (One active, 16 recovered)
  • County of Grande Prairie: Seven cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 72 cases (One active, 61 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 41 cases (One active, 33 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: Five cases (All recovered)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Four cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: Six cases (All recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: Ten cases (One active, nine recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: Zero cases
  • Mackenzie County: 37 cases (Four active, 33 recovered)

In the last 48 hours, 11,713 people were tested. There have now been 464,070 tests for COVID-19 administered in Alberta.
