Moving out Sale

Cled and Vivien Lewis to hold moving out sale in support on EMS Foundation

Jul 17, 2020 | 4:54 PM

A long-time Grande Prairie doctor is set to move across the pond, but will first be leaving the Regional EMS Foundation with one last gift.

Dr. Cled Lewis and his wife Vivien are set to move to the United Kingdom and will be selling the last of their possessions on Saturday. All the proceeds from that sale will be going entirely to the Regional EMS Foundation.

Foundation Executive Director Amanda Frayn says knowing of THE Lewis’ generosity, their decision to make this donation is unsurprising, yet very appreciated.

“It’s obviously very fitting for Cled and Viven to give back in many different ways throughout their being here in Grande Prairie, and the region,” said Frayn. “Once we got the word this was what was going to happen, and how we could be involved and help, we were just over the moon and so excited to be a part of it.”

Many in the Grande Prairie area know of Dr. Lewis, who was a family physician in the region for over 40 years, where he also served as the medical director for EMS in the north for most of that time.

The sale will go at the Lewis Estate on Range Road 63 (just north of the Highway 43x traffic circle) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18.

Frayn says because of COVID-19, proper health and safety protocols will be strictly followed on site.

“We will be dealing with masks and hand sanitizer. Masks aren’t necessarily mandatory… but we will have some on hand. So, if you want one you can certainly use it.”

“But certainly, physical distancing will be looked at. We will have some placed throughout, so if we do get kind of over-busy with it, then we might have to have people wait and do rotations through to look.”

Some of the items that are up for sale can be found on the Regional EMS Foundation’s Facebook page.
