Mandatory Mask Bylaw

Jasper passes mandatory mask bylaw for public areas

Aug 6, 2020 | 11:12 AM

Jasper is the latest Alberta community to pass a bylaw making face coverings mandatory in public areas.

The mountain town is requiring people to wear masks in all indoor public places, on downtown sidewalks and in all outdoor public places were distancing isn’t possible.

Mayor Richard Ireland says he’s thrilled visitors are coming to Jasper, and the health and safety of everyone in the community is a priority.

The bylaw excludes children under two, people with medical conditions and those eating or drinking at restaurants.
