Grande Prairie adds one new case of COVID-19, Alberta adds 124 new cases

Alberta is reporting 124 new cases of COVID-19 for Monday, September 14, bringing the provincial total to 1,491. This is a drop from the 1,538 active cases reported on Monday.

It is the seventh straight day that Alberta has added 100 plus new COVID-19 cases.

Grande Prairie added one new case over the last 24 hours and saw no new recoveries. Currently, there are 12 active cases of COVID-19 in the city.

It is unknown if the latest case of COVID-19 in Grande Prairie was related to the positive case that was found at Riverstone Public School. According to the Grande Prairie Public School Division, the school was notified of the positive case on September 14.

The County of Grande Prairie and MD of Greenview’s numbers both remained unchanged from Monday.

Clear Hills County and the County of Northern Lights saw the largest jump in cases over the last 24 hours.

Clear Hills County added six new cases, bringing their total amount of active cases to 21. The County of Northern Lights added four new cases and is now at 29 actives.

Updated numbers in the Peace Region are as follows for September 14:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 96 cases (12 actives, 82 recovered, two deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 49 cases (five actives, 44 recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 13 cases (one active, 11 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 11 cases (three actives, eight recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 74 cases (zero actives, 64 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 48 cases (zero actives, 43 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 12 cases (two actives, 10 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 24 cases (eight actives, 16 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 16 cases (one active, 15 recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 86 cases (21 actives, 64 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Nine cases (3 actives, 6 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 49 cases (29 actives, 20 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: One case (One active, 0 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 382 cases (62 actives, 308 recovered, 12 deaths)

Hospitalizations in the province grew from 37 to 39 over the last 24 hours, while patients admitted into the ICU remained at seven from the day before.

Hospitalizations of patients in the North Zone grew by one to six. There is nobody in an ICU in the North Zone.

There were 12,985 COVID-19 tests completed within the last 24 hours. In total, 14,212 Albertan’s have recovered from COVID-19.
