EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has tested negative for COVID-19 but will continue to isolate at home after one of his cabinet ministers tested positive.

Kenney says in a statement he is feeling healthy and not exhibiting symptoms.

He says because he has been in close contact with someone with COVID-19, he will isolate until Oct. 29.

In the meantime, he says he will continue to work from home.

The premier’s office said Wednesday afternoon that Grande Prairie MLA and Municipal Affairs Minister Tracy Allard went into self-isolation last weekend because a close contact tested positive.

When Allard’s test came back positive this afternoon, Kenney says he immediately went into isolation and was tested.
