Two COVID-19 cases confirmed at Riverstone Public School

Oct 24, 2020 | 8:22 PM

EverythingGP has learned that two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at Riverstone Public School.

In a letter sent to parents Saturday evening, the school says the two confirmed cases are linked to the same household.

The school adds that administration has already contacted all families and students that have been identified as close contact with the students who were confirmed positive for the virus.

Because there are two confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the school, it will be identified by Alberta Health Services as a “Outbreak” site. This is the status the Province gives to any school that has two or more active cases of COVID-19.

Riverstone Public School will remain open for in-person learning for students not identified as close contacts.

The school says that it is working with AHS to ensure the necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff. Staff will also disinfect key spaces within the school.
