The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit has made an arrest, following an investigation into the homicide of Grande Prairie resident Trevor Guillen earlier this year.

The 32 year-old Guillen was discovered with life-threatening injuries in Grande Prairie on April 25, 2020 in the south Avondale neighbourhood, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Following an autopsy, it was determined that 39-year old Telford Randall Howe was a person of interest, and in May the RCMP arrested Howe on outstanding warrants.

The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit has now completed their investigation into Guillen’s death, and on October 22, an arrest warrant was issued for Howe for a charge of manslaugher.

Howe was taken into custody the next day, and following judicial hearings, his bail was not spoken to. He is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court via CCTV on November 16, 2020.
