New COVID-19 health and safety measures have been put in place at the Crosslink County Sportsplex, which the County says are meant to be in line with the targeted public health measures announced Thursday by the provincial government.

Though the ban on team sport and group fitness activities was not made mandatory for the County, the County says in a release issued late Friday that following changes are in effect from November 13 to November 27, or until further notice:

  • Ice surfaces are limited to use by school groups and families from the same household.
  • The Trican Fieldhouse and Happy Trails Walking Track are limited to individual or family use from the same household.
  • The Seniors Walk and Talk program has been paused for two weeks.

Motion Fitness will remain open for individual use, with health and safety measures in place.

“Although the restrictions for indoor physical fitness and group sports are specific to metropolitan areas, including the City of Grande Prairie, these temporary measures follow the additional rules put in place by the Province to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and are consistent with other facilities in the area,” reads a release from the County.
