City of Grande Prairie adds eight new COVID-19 cases, 13 recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added eight new cases of COVID-19 for Monday, November 16, while also posting 13 recoveries, dropping the active case total in the Swan City to 87.

The County of Grande Prairie added three new cases over that same time along with four recoveries, dropping its active case total to 33 as of November 16.

There were also four new cases and one recovery identified in the MD of Greenview on Monday, while a COVID-19 outbreak was announced at the Ridgevalley Seniors Home south of Crooked Creek.

Alberta Health has confirmed to EverythingGP that there are 12 cases linked to the home as of Monday.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day November 16 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 407 cases (87 active, 318 recovered, two deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 144 cases (33 active, 110 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 63 cases (33 active, 29 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Five cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 28 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (four active, four recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 78 cases (two active, 66 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 54 cases (one active, 48 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 32 cases (seven active, 25 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 91 cases (43 active, 48 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 50 cases (14 active, 36 recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (one active, 96 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 15 cases (two active, 13 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 64 cases (three active, 61 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 423 cases (four active, 406 recovered, 13 deaths)

Alberta as a whole added 773 new cases on Monday, along with five more deaths linked to COVID-19. There have now been 432 fatalities recorded in Alberta.

Hospitalizations in the North Zone went up by one to 10 as of November 16, with one of those people in an ICU. Across Alberta there are 268 people in hospital with COVID-19, 57 of whom are in intensive care.
