School COVID-19 outbreak

COVID-19 outbreak declared at Crystal Park School, case confirmed at I.V. Macklin School

Nov 20, 2020 | 10:56 AM

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Crystal Park School.

COVID-19 outbreaks are declared at a school by Alberta Health Services after there has been more than one positive case at the school within a 14-day period.

A single case of COVID-19 has also been diagnosed in an individual at I.V. Macklin Public School.

At this time, both Crystal Park School and I.V. Macklin School remain open for in-person learning for students and staff not indicated as close contacts. The Grande Prairie Public School Division is working with AHS to ensure that the necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff.

School administration has reached out to students and staff that have been identified as close contacts to the individuals.

AHS will continue to monitor the situation and will continue to provide more information to parents as it is available.
