Hinshaw: “We must take steps to reduce community transmission” Alberta could add new COVID-19 measures Tuesday
With the cases of COVID-19 rising substantially in the province over the last month, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, says action needs to be taken.
“I have now reported 476 deaths from COVID-19, which is both a reminder of this viruses deadly potential and further proof that we must take steps to reduce community transmission.”
“It’s clear that we’ve reached a precarious point in Alberta. The virus is spreading faster and more widely than at any other point during the pandemic.”
Hinshaw’s comments came after she announced that Alberta had confirmed 1,549 new cases of COVID-19 for November 22, the second largest daily total the province has reported since the pandemic began.
