Bear Paw golf course officially open to public

May 1, 2021 | 7:00 AM

Starting today the Bear Paw golf course and driving range is officially open to the public for the season.

Johnathan Clarkson, the General Manager at Nitehawk says with the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, he and his team are happy to get the course open for the public once again.

“It was a great season last year being there weren’t a lot of things to do. People found Bear Paw was great for family activity and we’re excited to bring that again to the City.”

Because of COVID-19 restrictions remaining in place, Clarkson reminds anyone interested in playing the course this year that they’ll have to pay online and book in advance in order to play.

“We will have our COVID-19 protocols in place and again this year and we are doing all of our bookings online. You’ll be able to go to our website and select either a driving range time or a tee time.”

The online bookings will allow Bear Paw to make sure golfers are spaced out in order to comply with social distancing measures.

For the time being, Bear Paw will operate at reduced hours.

The course is open from May 1-2 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again from May 7-9 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Clarkson anticipates Bear Paw to begin operating at its normal hours during the week of May 15.

With the golf course now open, Clarkson also mentioned their RV park is close to opening for the season.

“We are just waiting for the water to get turned on and we are targeting the May long weekend to get that fired up,” said Clarkson.
