AJHL planning full season for 2021-22

The Alberta Junior Hockey League says its regular season will start on September 17.

The league has unveiled its calendar of events for 2021-22.

Training camps are set to open August 20 with exhibition games starting a week later.

The schedules for the exhibition games and the regular season will be announced in July.

There are plans for a full 58-game schedule for the AJHL’s 58th season.

The first event on the calendar is the AJHL Prospects Showcase set for July 23 to 25 in Enoch.

The playoffs would start March 4.

The full calendar of events is as follows:

  • June 26th: 2021 AJHL Annual General Meeting
  • July 23rd-25th: 2021 AJHL Prospects Showcase @ River Creek Arenas (Enoch, AB)
  • August 20th: AJHL Training Camps Open
  • August 27th: AJHL Exhibition Season Start
  • September 17th: AJHL Regular Season Opening Night
  • September 30th: October 3rd – AJHL Showcase
  • November TBD: AJHL Semi-Annual Meeting
  • December 1st: CJHL Roster Cutdown
  • December 12th-18th: World Junior A Challenge @ Cornwall, ON
  • January 10th: CJHL Trade Deadline
  • January TBD: CJHL Prospects Game @ TBD
  • February 27th: End of AJHL Regular Season
  • March 4th: 2022 AJHL Playoffs – Tentative Start Date
  • May 20th-May 29th: National Junior A Championship (NJAC) Centennial Cup @ Estevan, SK
