Fox Creek RCMP reminding public to stay off airport airstrip

Fox Creek RCMP are reminding the public to stay off the airstrip at the Fox Creek Airport, after they were informed of someone running with their dog on it last week.

Police were notified of the individual at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11. They say they were unable to identify the individual, but they are concerned by such alleged behaviour as it can create a safety issue for aircraft trying to land at the airstrip, located about 2 kilometres southeast of Fox Creek adjacent to Highway 43.

“The Fox Creek RCMP would like to remind the public that the Fox Creek Airport airstrip is meant for aircraft takeoffs and landings only,” police say, in a media release.

“Should persons frequent this area during an aircraft landing or takeoff, the consequences can be particularly serious, potentially resulting in loss of life.”
