A County of Grande Prairie man is $104,019 richer after he was a winner on the March 31 LOTTO/6/49 draw.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation says Alexander Voth purchased his $7 LOTTO 6/49 ticket at the GP North Shell on 99 Street in Clairmont.

They say he returned to the store a few days after the draw and checked his ticket, where he kept calm after claiming the big prize.

“I gave my ticket to the store clerk to scan,” he said. “When I saw the amount come up on the screen the store clerk got really excited about it; I felt very calm.”

Voth said he is going to use his recent windfall to pay off some of his bills. He said the rest of the money will go into his savings account.

Voth won LOTTO 6/49’s second-top prize by matching five of the six main draw numbers, plus the Bonus number – 3, 7, 8, 12, 37 and 40, and the Bonus number, 41.

WCLC also says a LOTTO 6/49 ticket from the September 30, 2020 draw has still been unclaimed, and a ticket purchased during that time somewhere in Calgary won $94,536.50.

The winning ticket matched five of the six main draw numbers and the Bonus number – 13, 16, 20, 21, 27, 48 and the Bonus number, 15.

The winner, or winners, are reminded they have one year from the draw date to claim their prize.
