Fire advisory in place for Grande Prairie Forest Area, fire danger rated very high
A fire advisory is now in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area due to possible record high temperatures in the forecast, as well as low humidity and gusty winds.
Under the advisory current burn permits are suspended, including burn barrels, and no new fire permits will be issued until conditions improve.
Any burning without a valid fire permit, other than a campfire, is prohibited.
Safe wood campfires, backyard fire pits, portable propane fire pits, gas or propane stoves and barbecues and catalytic or infrared-style heaters are still permitted.
