As of July 29, 65 per cent of eligible Albertans have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

While 65 per cent of eligible Albertans are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, fully vaccinated residents in the Peace Region remain below the provincial average.

In the City of Grande Prairie, 47.2 per cent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while just 44.4 per cent of people in the County of Grande Prairie fully are vaccinated against the virus.

In Alberta, 75.8 per cent of eligible residents have been given at least one shot.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says while Alberta does have high numbers, he encourages everyone who hasn’t gotten a shot to get one.

“Vaccines are the most effective way to get past the pandemic. They’re safe and highly effective. This is another important milestone, but we will keep pushing for more and more Albertans to get the vaccine. If you haven’t gotten both doses, now is the time.”

People in the Peace Region can book their COVID-19 vaccine appointment through a pharmacy or at the AHS website.

All Albertans who’ve received two doses of vaccine are also eligible to enter the Open for Summer Lottery, which features two more draws for $1 million each and travel packages.
