Peace Region crop in well below five-year average condition

Aug 3, 2021 | 4:28 PM

The July 27 crop report from Alberta Agriculture says just 15 per cent of the crop in the Peace Region is still considered in good to excellent condition.

The five-year average is 72 per cent, while the ten-year average 66.7.

The good to excellent breakdown by crop is 27.5 per cent for oats, 20.4 for dry peas, 16 for barley, 13.7 for spring wheat, and 13.3 for canola.

The report says isolated showers in some places are helping crops fill.
