The Reverend Forbes Homestead and Pioneer Hospital has officially opened its doors for the season.
From August 4 to September 4, residents can walk into the homestead to view household antiques and medical equipment. The City says after September 4, the facility is open for tours by appointment only.
This year the annual afternoon teas are being brought back on August 11, 12, 18, and 19. The tea is held outside on the lawn at 2 p.m. on each of the days.
Admission is free for the Forbes Homestead although the annual teas cost $5 a person. Reservations for the tea can be made by calling 780-830-7090. The Reverend Forbes Homestead is a Provincial Historic Site located behind the QEII hospital.
