After closing Spring Creek Road in the summer of 2019 for rehabilitation repairs, the road has officially reopened to traffic as of Tuesday, August 10.
In a release, the County of Grande Prairie says the rehabilitation work included installing a culvert and repairing then repaving the road.
The County said the overall timeline for the project was lengthened due to Federal permits which were required. This was because of the repairs involving work on a road and a surrounding slope that crossed a body of water.
County officials say $5 million was invested into the project after repeated wet spring seasons led to a slumping slope, which prompted the initial closure.
