Grande Prairie’s CIBC Run for the Cure raises over $30K
Despite the 2021 CIBC Run for the Cure being held virtually for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers are considering the fundraising event a success.
CIBC Run for the Cure Committee Member Kristine Warr says there were 112 participants in the Peace Region; who although were unable to run together in person, all ran together for the same cause, breast cancer research.
Warr says over $9 Million was raised across Canada for the CIBC Run for the Cure this year, with the Grande Prairie Region raising over $30,000 of it.
“It was a little less than last year, even that was virtual as well, so we were hoping to get around the same as that, which was $36,000,” she said. “So we’re just under that, which I think is still pretty successful. I’m happy with that.”
