Oct 25, 2021 | 2:27 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP are asking the public for help in identifying a male suspect who is believed to have assaulted a 24-year-old male at the Prairie Mall in September.

Police say they responded to the report of the assault at 12:22 p.m. on September 12. A male victim was in the mall, where he was then approached and assaulted by an unknown male suspect.

The suspect then allegedly left the area on foot.

Mounties say the victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.

The male suspect is described as standing between 5’8″ and 5’11” with a medium build. Authorities say he has either black or brown hair, with a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was last seen wearing a bomber jacket, a black ball cap, and a thick gold chain.

It is believed he could be associated with a red Pontiac convertible.

RCMP officers believe this is an isolated incident.

Anyone with information that may assist in identifying the suspect or any questions regarding the incident is asked to contact the Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700 or their local police.
