Storm comeback falls short in Bonnyville

Oct 28, 2021 | 8:11 AM

The Grande Prairie Storm’s winless streak continued Wednesday evening, as they lost 3-2 to the Bonnyville Pontiacs 3-2.

The Storm found themselves in trouble in the first period, as they surrendered three goals in the first 20 minutes of play.

In the second the Storm would try their best to claw back. Ty Toews and Evan Gass both picked up goals to draw the Storm within a goal.

While they were able to bring the game within a goal after 40 minutes, the Pontiacs were able to prevent the Storm from registering another goal, picking up a 3-2 victory in the process.

The Storm will look to end their winless streak Friday when they return home to face the expansion Blackfalds Bulldogs.

Puck drop for that game is at 7:00 p.m. The Storm will also be hosting a “Tighty-Whitey Toss” to support the Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie’s Dignity Drive.

Fans are encouraged to bring newly purchased underwear or socks and toss them onto the ice when the Storm score their first goal of the game.
