Two Grande Prairie residents are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation at the end of October.

Police say search warrants were executed on October 22 by the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit, Grande Prairie RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Services.

During their searches, RCMP seized what they believed to be approximately 750 grams of crystal meth, 76 grams of cocaine and 49 grams of fentanyl.

Police say they also seized a shotgun with ammunition, nearly $10,000 cash and what are describe as multiple items related to drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Jeffrey Lawrence Klimack and 32-year-old Denise Lynn Pierce are facing multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and crystal meth, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime of over $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Mounties say Klimack faces additional charges of possession of a firearm contrary to order and careless storage of a firearm, while Pierce faces additional charges of trafficking fentanyl.

Klimack was remanded into police custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on November 3.

Pierce was released from custody on a release order and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on November 10.
