Peace Region Petroleum Show returning in 2022 as Peace Region Energy Show

Nov 4, 2021 | 6:00 AM

The Peace Region Petroleum Show will return in 2022 but under a new name.

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce and the Grande Prairie Petroleum Association have announced it will now be called the Peace Region Energy Show.

It will run on May 18 and 19, 2022, at Evergreen Park.

Chamber CEO Tanya Oliver says the focus of the show will still be on oil and gas.

“It’s a really good opportunity for us to provide the platform to the traditional industries, to tell their story and to communicate the importance of traditional oil and gas into the global energy picture. It’s just really timely, really relevant.”

However, Oliver says its important to have alternative energies represented at the show as well.

“It’s really fitting and for us, we’re so proud of our show and our show is still thriving and a success, so it wasn’t out of necessity that we had to rebrand but in partnership with the Petroleum Association, we had decided that it was the best move for everybody involved to make the shift to the Energy Show,” she explained.

Oliver is anticipating that exhibit space will sell out for the two-day event.

“People are ready for it. The industry is ready for it. People, in general, are just ready to get back in person, make those handshakes, make those face-to-face connections,” she said.

“We will, of course, follow any public health advice at the time that our show happens.”

The Peace Region Petroleum Show had run every other year between 1995 and 2019.
