SOME CHANGES MADE FOR 2022

Provincial camping reservations now open in Alberta

Jan 11, 2022 | 11:14 AM

Campers looking forward to spring can start booking for the upcoming season as of Tuesday, Jan. 11.

Due to the high demand for campsites across the province, Alberta Parks is making some changes.

Alberta Parks online reservations on Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca will now be a year-round service.

Beginning at 9 a.m., individual campsites can be booked in campgrounds that are open up to April 11 (90 days in advance). Group camping can be booked up to 180 days in advance starting Jan. 12.

The booking window will advance by one day each morning at 9 a.m. While the booking system will be available year-round, campers are still required to book within each campground’s seasonal dates.

The province believes having the start of reservations differ according to each campground’s season opening date and the advance booking window will help reduce the volume of online users, promoting fair opportunity and access.

Campers can book a maximum of 10 consecutive nights per reservation. Alberta Parks says this change will help reduce booking changes, overbooking and no-shows.

Campers can stay for a total of 16 consecutive nights in an individual, backcountry and comfort campsite; however, multiple reservations must be made.
