Court update: Trial dates set in sexual assault case, preliminary hearing dates set in two murder cases

RCMP said at the time they got a report on January 4, 2020, about what they described as ” a complaint of an alleged inappropriate contact of a sexual nature between an adult and two minors” at a Grande Prairie home.

Mounties also said the two minors were allegedly offered goods to go to an unlicensed home-based business.

Preliminary hearing date set in murder case

Alberta Justice says preliminary hearing dates have been set for a woman charged with murder after the death of a man from Grande Prairie.

The hearing for Brianna Ruf-Dietz is set for July 28 and 29 in Wetaskiwin court.

The Red Deer woman was arrested in October 2021 in Edmonton in connection with the death of 26-year-old Tyler Johnson.

His body was identified after a police investigation and an autopsy last March. Mounties had said that human remains were found in a burned-out home in Maskwacis on March 8, 2021.

Johnson had been reported missing.

Preliminary hearing dates set in Peace River murder case

Alberta Justice says preliminary hearing dates have been set in a Cadotte Lake murder case.

The hearing for Clint Carifelle is set for January 4 to 6, 2023 in Peace River court.

He was charged with murder after the death of 34-year-old Keith Carifelle of Cadotte Lake on September 12, 2021.

RCMP said at the time a man had arrived at the emergency room in Cadotte Lake with a gunshot wound. He was flown to Grande Prairie hospital by STARS where he later died.

RCMP say the shooting took place at a Cadotte Lake home and the two men were known to each other.
