Unemployment rates drop nationally, provincially, locally

The economic region that includes Grande Prairie and the entire Peace region had the lowest unemployment rate in all of Alberta in the month of April.
The local jobless rate dropped from 5.3 per cent in March, to 4.7 per cent last month.
15,700 fewer people were unemployed in Alberta in April compared to March, bringing the provincial jobless rate down to 5.9 per cent from 6.5 per cent in March.
Nationally, the unemployment rate hit another modern-era low, coming in at 5.2 per cent in April as the national economy added 15,300 new jobs.
