Highway cleanup set for this weekend after rainout last weekend

After being cancelled last weekend due to the weather, Alberta transportation’s 46th annual Highway Cleanup campaign will take place this Saturday, May 14th across the Peace region.

Volunteers from various groups and organizations will fan out across the region to pick up trash from ditches alongside highways and major roadways.

Sexsmith Minor Hockey will be one of the groups out in our area this weekend, with over 200 kids and adults working on about 75 km of roadway within the region.

RCMP remind motorists to slow down and drive with caution, adding they will be patrolling highways to help keep everyone safe.
