Grande Prairie Stompede names 2022 Wagonmaster

For the first time since 2019, a new Wagonmaster has been named for the Grande Prairie Stompede.

Orval Sorken has been named the 2022 Wagonmaster of the Grande Prairie Stompede and is sharing the title with his wife Betty Sorken.

The pair were Wagonmasters in 2016 for the Teepee Creek Stampede and Orval says they appreciate the opportunity they have again.

“Overwhelming, but wonderful!” Betty says it is to have the honour.

“After it sets in and you start to think about it.. it’s just such an honour, an absolute honour. We just appreciate the thought of even doing it.” they shared.
