Spirit River RCMP asking for public assistance in collision investigation

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., Spirit River RCMP along with emergency services, responded to reports of a collision involving a semi-truck and an automobile at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 49 near Rycroft.
The semi was reportedly travelling eastbound on Highway 49 and collided with a small car that was travelling northbound on Highway 2.
The adult female driver of the car was admitted to a local hospital and the youth and infant passengers in the car were airlifted to an Edmonton hospital in critical condition.
The male driver of the semi was not injured.
