Bezanson School, Eco-Centre hosting recycling events Saturday

Jun 3, 2022 | 1:19 PM

The County of Grande Prairie’s annual Recycling Roundup is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bezanson school.

In partnership with the Alberta Recycling Management Authority, the County is encouraging its residents to bring their household hazardous waste items; such as cleaners, chemicals, paint, batteries, used oil, tires, and propane tanks under 100 pounds.

Electronics such as computers, TVs, cell phones, tools and appliances can also be recycled, as can regular recyclable items like tin, paper, cardboard and refundable bottles.

These items can all be dropped off free of charge and anyone that drops off items to be recycled will be entered into draws for several items, including a home composter.

Aquatera Waste Round-Up Event Saturday

Aquatera will host its annual Waste Round-Up Event tomorrow at the Eco-Centre.

Old electronics, appliances, and paint are among the items that can be dropped off.

There will also be giveaways, demonstrations and activities between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The round-up is held as part of Environment Week, which focuses on recycling, safe disposal, and waste reduction.
