Free public swimming event planned to celebrate 60th anniversary of outdoor pool

July 13th marks the 60th anniversary of the opening of the outdoor pool at Muskoseepi Park.

Originally named the Bear Creek pool, the facility closed in 2013 to allow for major renovations and the addition of several new amenities.

The city is planning a 60th-anniversary celebration for Saturday, July 16th, which will include public swimming, a barbecue, outdoor games, and hourly giveaways.

The public is encouraged to show up at the start of any of the two-hour time slots for swimming on that day, which are noon, 2:30, 5, and 7:30 pm.

The pool will be completely cleared at the end of each two-hour time slot.
