Four playgrounds getting new, modern equipment in Grande Prairie

Jul 22, 2022 | 7:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is going to begin replacing four playgrounds across the City.

The new playgrounds are designed for children 18 months to 12 years old and will provide physical activity and help kids develop literacy and social skills.

Upgrades include new and modern playground equipment, protective surfacing, and play surface borders.

The City did not specify what exact day construction will start, but stated in a news release it will begin this week.

The four playgrounds getting replacements are:

  • Jim Kluyt Park (located in Country Club Estates)
  • Tot Park (located in Crystal Heights)
  • Alexis Trimm Park (located in Countryside South)
  • Rotary Park (located in Smith)

Jim Kluyt Park and Tot Park will have construction begin first, then Alexis Trimm Park and Rotary Park are scheduled for construction to start later this summer.

Playgrounds will be closed while work is underway.
