City of Grande Prairie continuing Annual Sidewalk Improvement Program

The City of Grande Prairie continues its annual sidewalk improvement program on Tuesday, August 2.

Five locations getting replaced are:

• 92 Avenue Service Road from 99 Street to end
• 91A Avenue from 98 Street to 9617 91A Avenue
• Poplar Drive from 72 Avenue to 76 Avenue
• Country Club – Loop (66 Avenue, 67 Avenue, 93 Street, 94 Street)
• Country Club – Loop (94 Street, 93 Street, 62 Avenue)

All five sites have aging infrastructure that no longer meets the current infrastructure standards and replacement will improve mobility and safety.

The Sidewalk Program was a project created to ensure everyone had access to sidewalks, with residential areas having typically 1.5 metre sidewalks to ensure safety and accessibility.
