Beaverlodge ED without a physician for 11 hours

Alberta Health Services has announced that the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital will be without a physician for eleven hours.

From Wednesday, August 10 at 9:00 p.m. until Thursday, August 11 at 8:00 a.m. nursing staff will remain on-site to provide assessments and triage, as well as refer patients to nearby healthcare facilities.

During that time, people are still asked to call 9-1-1 with medical emergencies, however their calls will be re-routed by EMS to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River.

AHS wants to ensure residents that they are working to provide access to the care residents need and are thankful for everyone’s patience at this time.
