The City of Grande Prairie has responded to the complaints of Northridge residents
The City of Grande Prairie has heard numerous complaints from Northridge residents regarding overgrown foxtails, mayweed, and other plants in vacant lots near 102A Street.
The City of Grande Prairie said in a statement they have reached out to the property owners of the vacant lots about the responsibilities that come with being a land owner.
A resident of Northridge reported that when the wind picked up Saturday, August 6, it blew all the excess plants into people’s yards creating giant ‘clumps,’ which can turn into a health issue for pets if ingested.
At this time the City of Grande Prairie says if the property owners remain non-compliant, they have further steps in enforcing these bylaws, including mowing the land and billing the owner.
