Alberta Wildfire has released some fire safety tips to keep you and Alberta forests safe while enjoying the outdoors this Labour Day Long Weekend.

Alberta has been experiencing hot and dry conditions for a while, which can escalate wildfire danger, Alberta Wildfire asks if you see any smoke or fire, call 310-Fire.

Never leave a campfire unattended, and before leaving a campfire, make sure to follow the soak, stir, soak again method.

They also recommend stopping often and checking for hot spots if you’re operating an off-highway vehicle, exhaust systems heating debris or dry vegetation can cause a wildfire.
